Der Warmupper von Schmidt sammelt gerade Pluspunkte bei mir, weil er Barth parodiert.

Wenn ich mich bis dahin nicht besser organisiert habe, wird meine Magisterarbeit meine Gesundheit ruinieren. Vermutlich irreparabel. Aber ab Dienstagnachmittag geht es erstmal wieder bergauf. So lange: weitermachen!

Stundenlang am einzigen funktionierenden Kopierer darauf gewartet, dass die dusseligen Päda-Studentinnen (Erstis??!) endlich fertig werden

Von der Schwedisch-Lehrerin und Kursteilnehmern genervt worden: "Wir wollen ja ach so gerne einen Schweden-Stammtisch, haben aber keinen Bock ihn zu organisieren bzw. keine Ahnung davon" - außerdem frustriert, weil verbale Attacken auf Schwedisch nicht so einfach zu parieren sind

Den viel zu schweren, nervigen Papiermüll abends noch raus in die Kälte tragen gemusst

Kurz: FY FAN - vilken jävla dag!

Sorry, non-German-speaking readers - I'm currently too tired and frustrated to translate into English.

The older I become, the more fascinated I am of what happened in November 1989. I was seven years old on that evening when Egon Krenz announced that the GDR opened the borders to the Federal Republic of Germany, where I lived and still live. My brothers where 3 years and 9 months old. I don't remember anything about this evening. I just know that adults where discussing a lot for weeks. And I remember that just weeks or months before I had understood that there were two Germanies. And it had been hard to imagine that there was another country named Germany. What were these people there like? Did they speak the same language as we did? What did they look like? I thought it was really weird to have two countries with the same name.

Thank you, EuroCore Jazz Club for a wonderful chilly night yesterday at the Tufa! I liked "Merci Georges" so much, the last song of the night - it was a true highlight. Listening to Ack van Rooyen live was also a great experience. Hope to have such a good night again and want share it with some others.

Some nights of the year are special, and this is one of these. Dust is creeping from the river, capturing gently the sleeping city. A breath of smoky wood is in the air. Lanterns' lights seem less bright than in other nights. The moon is hiding behind grey clouds. Black cats are sneaking thievishly around corners, sometimes mourning their eldritch language. Spooky shadows scare harmless commoners. It is quiet - the fog erodes every sound of the night. Pubs are closing early not to disturb the deads and undeads. No honest people on the streets tonight. It's halloween - all saints' night - in Trier. Be prepared!

(I'd love to give you a picture of this experience but unfortunetely my mirror image went off today and I'm still searching for it.)

Ich muss wohl nicht erwähnen, dass ich diesen Film liebe? Feinste Pixar-Animation, gutes Essen, swingende Disney-Filmmusik und das Ganze in Paris - was will man mehr?! Achso: es handelt sich nicht zwingend um einen reinen Kinderfilm. Aber das sind wir von Pixar ja schon gewohnt. Bon appétit!
